The new Google Nexus 5 made by LG is coming

The Nexus 4 was a hit. Simple, powerful, cheap the best that LG and Google can offer with a native Android OS. Now we have pictures and more details of the next Google Nexus 5.

This comes thanks to leaked pictures and specs after showing up first in a Google promotion video and then leaked photo after photo from the FCC filing that revealed key details about the Nexus 5.

We do not know exactly when we will see the Nexus 5 released as Google remain silent about the new flagship smartphone release event.

It is expected that the new Nexus 5 will be developed again by LG. It is expected that the new Nexus 5 will be with a better camera with optical image stabilization. The camera is most likely similar to the one that we see in LG G2 with 13 MP sensors with optical stabilization.

Most likely the new Google Nexus 5 comes with Android Kit-Kat 4.4

Here is a video of the technology used in the LG G2 that will give you some ideas what may be implemented in the new Nexus 5.

Samsung is planning 64-bit Galaxy Phones

Apple set the standards with the announcement a few days ago that the new iOS 7 update is designed specifically for the new iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C and more importantly it is based on 64-bit architecture, first for a mobile OS to be used by a major smartphone manufacturer. The processor will be able to handle code for more demanding applications, including high-end games.

Today we hear news from Samsung, the company that is at present the main rival to Apple that they are also planning to implement 64-bit processors in the next-generation Galaxy smartphone.

The announcement comes from an interview in the Korean Times by Samsung Mobile’s co-CEO Shin Jong-kyun cited by c-net. In the interview he talks mainly about Samsung’s plans to expand its business in China, the huge market that Apple is just entering with the new iPhone S and iPhone C.

“Samsung understands that Apple intends to boost its mobile business in China, as well as in Japan, meaning that we should try harder in these countries,”

Samsung’s mobile business chief Shin Jong-kyun said.

He also anounced the release date for the new Samsung Galaxy Note 3

[Samsung will hold a launch event for its latest Galaxy Note3 tablet in China. The Korean technology heavyweight is set to release the 5.7-inch device in 140 countries.

In the interview he did not mention exactly when and which models of the Galaxy line will have the 64-bit architecture.

The new and powerful 64-bit architecture brings the smartphones closer and closer to the day in which we will be using a small and powerful mobile device for all the computing tasks in our everyday life. The future of the mobile netizen is coming closer and closer.

Now we expect to see other major manufacturers to announce their plans for using the powerful 64-bit architecture. Maybe Microsoft and Nokia? We will see.

Overlay a selection of fun, customizable animations to create pictures using Sony’s SmartARTM augmented reality technology.

Microsoft to acquire Nokia’s Devices & Services for 5.44 Billion Euro

The hot news just announced jointly by Microsoft and Nokia is that Microsoft is ready to pay EUR 3.79 billion to purchase the Nokia Devices & Services business, and additional EUR 1.65 billion to license Nokia’s patents, for a total transaction price of EUR 5.44 billion in cash.

It is expected that the transaction will be finalised in the first quarter of 2014, subject to approval by Nokia’s shareholders, regulatory approvals and other closing conditions.

On the corporate site, Steve Balmer, Microsoft chief executive officer commented the deal:

“It’s a bold step into the future – a win-win for employees, shareholders and consumers of both companies. Bringing these great teams together will accelerate Microsoft’s share and profits in phones, and strengthen the overall opportunities for both Microsoft and our partners across our entire family of devices and services. In addition to their innovation and strength in phones at all price points, Nokia brings proven capability and talent in critical areas such as hardware design and engineering, supply chain and manufacturing management, and hardware sales, marketing and distribution.”

“For Nokia, this is an important moment of reinvention and from a position of financial strength, we can build our next chapter,”

said Risto Siilasmaa, Chairman of the Nokia Board of Directors

“Building on our successful partnership, we can now bring together the best of Microsoft’s software engineering with the best of Nokia’s product engineering, award-winning design, and global sales, marketing and manufacturing,”

said Stephen Elop, who following today’s announcement is stepping aside as Nokia President and CEO to become Nokia Executive Vice President of Devices & Services.

This is a very hot development. Let us see now how the Nokia devices and the integrated Microsoft Windows Phone 8 OS develop.

Nokia launching a 10-inch Windows RT tablet in September

Rumors that Nokia is developing a tablet to be released have circulated the net for some time now and all the time the manufacturer has been insisting that it is not developing such a device although it was keeping its options open for the future. Pictures of the Nokia 10.1 inch tablet codenamed Vanquish, have appeared in the Chinese site DigiWo.

In view of the fact that Microsoft has developed and is selling the Surface RT with a Windows 8 RT operating system it was thought that Nokia will not release a similar tablet. At the same time, Microsoft anounced that it is also preparing the release of the next version of the Surface.

Well it seems that finally the time has come for Nokia to launch on the market a 10-inch Windows RT tablet. Whether this is good or bad only time will tell, but the fact is that Nokia has developed a tablet and it is using Windows RT. Microsoft’s Surface RT is not selling very well and the future of Windows RT is not so good as other manufacturers like ASUS have even droped all future plans for tablets with Windows RT it is interesting that Nokia might use the Windows RT for its tablet. Nokia it seems will go ahead with such a tablet and maybe the reason is that it is going to use the update Windows 8.1 that Microsoft will release in October.

Releasing a 10-inch tablet with Windows RT, Nokia will be faced with severe competition from the established manufacturers of such devices Apple, Samsung and Asus. Being a late comer to the 10-inch tablet market and to be able to compete with them Nokia will have to offer something very special, a better user experience and a price that is competitive. Better camera maybe? Will it be able to do that we will have to wait and see.

The Chinese site DigiWo has also published a leaked picture of the back of the Nokia tablet.

What we know so far from the leaked specs that the Nokia tablet is with a 10.1-inch display, 2.15 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB or 3GB RAM, 32 GB storage, 1080p resolution, 5-point touch screen  with a detachable keyboard similar to the Touch / Type Cover of the Surface. The External keyboard has built in extra battery, USB port, Micro HDMI & USB 3.0.

It is expected that Nokia will officially show the new tablet at a special event to be held in New York on September 26th. It will run Microsoft Windows RT OS most likely the Windows 8.1 version expected to be released by Microsoft on October 18th.
